Planning a Same-Day Wedding in Florida? Here's How It Actually Works.

Florida same-day weddings are legal, fast, and paperwork-free. Here's exactly how the license, scheduling, and ceremony work — from Zoom to I do.

So you've decided to get married today. Maybe you're on a layover. Maybe you finally said yes and now you're both just ready. Maybe you've been engaged for three years and you're done waiting. Whatever the reason: Florida makes same-day weddings completely legal, and Tied & Untied makes them completely painless.

Here's how it works.

1. The License Situation (It's Easier Than You Think)

Florida doesn't require a waiting period for non-residents, and residents can waive it by completing a quick online premarital course. That means you can apply for your marriage license today, from your phone, without setting foot in a courthouse.

You'll do a short Zoom meeting with the county clerk, email your IDs, and receive your license digitally. The whole thing takes about two business hours. I walk every couple through the process after booking, so there's nothing to figure out on your own.

The license fee is $61–$93.50 paid directly to the county. That's it.

2. Same-Day Scheduling, No Waiting List

Rush booking is available for any date within 7 days and adds a flat $75 to your package. There's no waitlist, no lengthy back-and-forth, no "let me check with my coordinator."

You pick a package, we confirm, and you're on the calendar. Some couples apply from the hotel, take their clerk Zoom from the pool, and are married by dinner.

3. Your Ceremony, Your Way

You're not renting a chapel with a laminated script. Packages range from a 15-minute classic ceremony (The Quickie, $199) to a fully personalized ceremony with vow writing support and pre-wedding coordination (The Situation, $399). Want to get married on a boat? That's The Full Send, $599 — and yes, maritime jurisdiction is covered.

You bring the vows, the guests, the pirate costumes, or nothing at all. I've officiated on docks, on sandbars, and yes, I dodged a pelican in Destin. I don't judge. I just show up.

4. Transparent Pricing, No Surprises

Every package is listed with exactly what's included. Add-ons like extra on-site hold time, a second couple at the same gathering, or a pre-wedding event are priced per line item. Nothing is buried. No "venue fees" revealed at checkout.

If you want an NDA signed (it happens), that's an add-on too.

5. From "Let's Do This" to Legally Married

The day-of experience is exactly what it should be: calm, fun, and yours. I handle the legal filing after the ceremony, so you leave married and don't have to follow up on paperwork.

You focus on the moment. I handle the rest.

No courthouse. No waiting period. No stress. Just Florida.
